Marco's Past Work

Animation

A collection of hand animated clips from my various 2D and 3D animation classes. These were made with Flash, After Effects, and good ol' hand drawing and paper flipping. 3D work was created in Maya.

2D Animation

Hooty Flying

I love owls. I loved animating my owls and creating cute scenarios and vignettes with them, sometimes involving slapstick humor. My poor owls never saw it coming. Here's Hooty animated in Flash.

Hooty Jr.

One of my other owl characters enjoying his time on a branch. Or is he? Animated in Flash.

Hoots!

A hand-drawn final for one of my 2D animation classes. I created the music as well, recording with Reason.

Sanity Clause

This was my final for my Intro to Flash class. I edited the audio from the original clip from A Night at the Opera, the brilliant Marx Bros. movie, and animated one of the funniest exchanges between Groucho and Chico. I wish I had the time to animate the whole exchange, but that would have taken forever and a day!

2D Studio Final

2D Studio was the final 2D animation class we went through at the Art Institutes. We worked in teams to create these final projects, from story concept, asset creation, to final production. I came up with this silly story about a series of unfortunate events befalling the streets of San Francisco. I created the overall stylistic look of the piece and did most of the primary animation and compositing.

3D Animation

Pitfall!

After graduating from AiSF, I became friends with one of the 3D Animation teachers there. Her name was Valerie Mih, and she allowed me to sit in on her class and participate in the assignments with the rest of the students. This was a little assignment using the Mikey rig to show off walking, jumping, and general character movement. I kicked it up a notch and turned it into a silly version of the classic Atari game Pitfall, complete with alligators!

Toast!

This was my final for my first 3D Animation class. Everything created with Photoshop and 3DStudio Max.
