Cafe Measurer privacy policy

Overview

Cafe Measurer is an iPhone and iPad app published by Marco Salsiccia. It receives measurements from a compatible nearby kitchen scale and processes those measurements locally on the device.

Information collected

Cafe Measurer does not collect, receive, sell, rent, or share personal information. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, developer-operated online service, or third-party tracking software.

The developer does not receive your scale measurements, ingredient selections, pour methods, app settings, device identifiers, accessibility settings, or usage history through the app.

Bluetooth and scale measurements

Cafe Measurer requests Bluetooth access so it can scan for compatible nearby scale broadcasts. It examines broadcast data locally to recognize supported scale packets and calculate the displayed weight.

Scale measurements are used for the current display, VoiceOver updates, conversions, and optional pour cues. Cafe Measurer does not upload measurements or keep a measurement history.

App preferences

Cafe Measurer stores your selected measurement unit, enabled units, pour interval, appearance, number color, and number font locally in the app’s preferences. These settings are not sent to the developer.

Audio and accessibility

VoiceOver announcements are created locally through Apple accessibility APIs. Optional pour tones are included with the app and played locally. Cafe Measurer does not record audio or transmit accessibility information.

Feedback email

If you activate Send Feedback, Cafe Measurer can open Apple’s mail composer with the developer’s address, a subject, and the app version, build number, and iOS version filled in. You can review, change, send, or cancel that message.

No feedback is sent unless you choose to send the email. Your selected mail service handles a sent message according to its own terms and privacy policy.

External links

The Settings screen contains a link to this privacy policy. The link opens in your selected browser only when you activate it. The browser and destination website then handle the request according to their own privacy policies.

App Store distribution

Cafe Measurer is distributed through the App Store. Apple may process download, purchase, diagnostic, and account information according to Apple’s services, your settings, and Apple’s privacy policy. The developer does not add separate tracking to the app.

Children’s privacy

Cafe Measurer does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users. The app contains no accounts, advertising, tracking, or social features.

Deleting local information

The developer holds no Cafe Measurer measurement or preference information to delete. You can remove the app’s locally stored preferences by deleting Cafe Measurer from your device.

Changes to this policy

If Cafe Measurer changes in a way that affects this policy, this page and its effective date will be updated.
